Facioscapulohumeral Muscular Dystrophy (FSHD) is a hereditary and progressive muscle disease that causes muscles to gradually weaken over time. On Saturday 14 September, a SingelSwim will be held in Utrecht. This is a sporting event aimed at raising money and awareness for this condition.
You can take part in a range of activities such as swimming, relay swimming, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), canoeing, and walking. A special KidsSwim has been organised for children. Don’t fancy joining in but still want to help? You can make a donation. Of course, you're also very welcome to come along and cheer on the participants from the sidelines. The start and finish are located at TivoliVredenburg, just a five-minute walk from Inntel Hotels Utrecht Centre.
All funds raised will go to the FSHD Foundation, which uses the money to support scientific research into the disease.
